Election Commission Chairman Kazi Habibur Awal today suggested that he may reverse the Electoral Commission's decision to ban journalists from using motorcycles during elections.

On April 12, the Election Commission issued a directive to media outlets banning journalists from using motorbikes at polling stations.

After meeting with British High Commissioner Sarah Cooke at Nirbachan Baban, Mr Habibul told to reporters that media guidelines had been discussed.

The British envoy wanted to know if permission was required for media personnel to enter polling stations. "We said there is no permit required," Habibul said. There is a reason the commission has banned motorcycles, the CEC said.

He added that journalists were right to argue that it would be difficult to cover election activities without motorcycles.

"That's why we said we were going to test ( New gauidline ) and change accordingly," he added.
