| Prayers of Begum Zia initiated by wazirpur Upazila Shramik dal |

A prayer and munajat was held for the soul of the late Begum Khaleda Zia, the three-time successful female Prime Minister of Bangladesh, organized by the Uzirpur Upazila Sramik Dal and courtesy of General Secretary Sahadut Zaman Comrade. The program, organized under the chairmanship of Upazila Sramik Dal President Zia Amin Radhi and conducted by Organizing Secretary Md. Forkan, was attended by thousands of leaders and activists, including men and women.
The prayer mahfil held at the Uzirpur Municipal Sadar Women's College ground after Asr on Thursday (January 15, 2026), prayed for the peace of the soul of the late Begum Zia. Special prayers were offered for the leaders and activists of the country, nation and party in the prayer and munajat held with religious solemnity.
In the president's speech at the program, Upazila Sramik Dal President Zia Amin Radhi remembered the late Begum Zia. He said that Begum Zia's contribution to protecting the country and democracy will be remembered forever in history. At one stage of his speech, he highlighted the torture inflicted on the leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates during the Awami League regime and became emotional.
Also present at the time were Upazila BNP General Secretary Humayun Khan, Senior Vice President SM Alauddin, Senior Joint General Secretary Sardar Siddiqur Rahman, Vice President Jamal Hossain, Member Imran Sardar, Municipal BNP Vice President Gias Uddin Akon, Upazila Sramik Dal Senior Vice President M Mizanur Rahman Mithu Bali, Joint General Secretaries Md. Hannan Howlader and Riyad Sikder, and leaders of the party at various levels.
Senior Joint Convener of Upazila Volunteer Party Syed Yusuf Mira, Joint General Secretary of Barisal District Student Party Safaul Sardar Samrat, Co-Organizing Secretary Md. Mehedi Hasan, Joint Convener of Municipal Youth Party Kamruzzaman Mithu, Convener of Gournadi Upazila Student Party Md. Rubel Gomosta and Convener of Volunteer Party Rajib Howlader were present at the event.
In addition, Organizing Secretary of Municipal Workers Party Rafiqul Islam, President of Bamrail Union Workers Party Md. Nasir Uddin Akon, leaders of Municipal Women's Party and a large number of leaders and activists of various unions participated in the doa mahfil.
Finally, Hafez Maulana Md. Monir Hossain led the doa and munajat. After the doa, the event was declared over by praying for the forgiveness of the departed soul of late Begum Khaleda Zia.
