53rd Independence Day celebrated with due dignity in Panchagarh |

Independence Day and National Day were celebrated with due dignity in Atwari, Panchagarh. The program began with a 31-gun salute at sunrise on Sunday, organized by the upazila administration. Then, wreath-laying at the memorial in the upazila and the official hoisting of the national flag at the Atwari Model Pilot High School grounds were followed by a parade and display.
Later, a reception was held in honor of the brave freedom fighters, families of war casualties, and family members of the martyred brave freedom fighters, and a discussion meeting on the historical leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the development of the country was held under the chairmanship of UNO Md. Musfiqul Alam Halim.
After the discussion meeting, sports competitions and prizes were distributed. The Independence Day program organized by former assistant professors Md. Ramjan Ali and Rumi Chowdhury was hosted by Atwari Upazila Parishad Chairman and Upazila Awami League President Md. Touhidul Islam as the chief guest.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shayla Saeed Tanvi, Vice Chairman Md. Shahjahan and Renu Ekram, Officer-in-Charge of Atwari Police Station Md. Sohel Rana, Upazila Health Officer Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Nurjahan Khatun, OC (Investigation) Md. Sohel Rana, former Upazila Commander Bir Muktijoddha Md. Nazrul Islam, Union Parishad chairmen, heads of various departments and NGO organizations, local government party leaders and media personnel, along with invited guests participated in all the Independence Day programs.
Meanwhile, the leaders and activists of the Upazila Awami League and its affiliates and associate organizations placed wreaths at the Bangabandhu Mural located in the Parishad. As the holy month of Ramadan is ongoing, the main program of the Independence Day was concluded by noon. The program was concluded by serving high-quality food at various orphanages including the Upazila Health Complex and by arranging prayers and supplications at various mosques, temples, churches and other religious places for the peace, prosperity and development of the nation and the progress of the country.
